Limited last-minute tickets for the Annual Fundraising Lunch for Marymount are now available. The Friends of Marymount Annual Lunch is a key event in the Marymount Fundraising Calendar and is fast-approaching on Friday 27th April in the Rochestown Park Hotel. This year more than 400 Marymount supporters will gather to hear the guest speaker, former Governor of Mountjoy John Lonergan, Dr Mary Jane O’Leary, Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Marymount and be guided through the lunch by Master of Ceremonies Keith Cunningham DJ KC) as well as Cork County Mayor Declan Hurley and Lord Mayor Tony Fitzgerald. There are also fantastic table prizes and raffle prizes to be won.
“We are absolutely honoured to welcome John Lonergan to this year’s lunch,” said Paula McGovern, head of fundraising and communications in Marymount. “We hope his presence will help raise awareness of this important fundraising event for us and also the invaluable work that takes place in Marymount every single day. We are grateful to for KC for his support of the event. The Friends of Marymount committe have as always put a huge amount of work into the day and it promises to be a great event.”
Marymount is based in a new state-of-the-art facility in Curraheen, Cork. Marymount provides specialist palliative hospice care, a community based palliative care team and specialist care for older people.
In 2017 Marymount supported more than 3,000 families throughout Cork through its in-patient and outpatient services and in the wider community, with the demand for its services growing each year.
While it offers its specialist palliative care services free of charge, Marymount is only funded approximately 70% by the state each year. Marymount needs to raise €3million through fundraising each year to ensure it can continue to provide its needed services.
Tickets for the lunch are €60 and can be bought at https://marymountannuallunch.eventbrite.ie or by calling the fundraising office on 021 4501201 or email fundraising@marymount.ie. Champagne reception from 12.15pm on Friday 27th April.
