Practice Development facilitates personal and professional development through the provision of:
- Clinical skills and CPD training
- Guidance and tools for participation in clinical audit and research
- Continuous quality improvement initiatives
Practice development encourages and supports staff to create and take ownership of change, in line with best practice and agreed standards. Through provision of support and advice to clinical staff from induction onwards we promote a culture of learning for our staff and students who are on clinical placement with us.
We are a university teaching hospital and continuously work to ensure that the clinical learning environments within all areas of the hospital provide optimum learning and meet the learning objectives set by the third level institutes for undergraduate and post graduate courses.
Practice Development promotes and maintains high quality, patient focused care through the development of policies, procedures and guidelines, clinical documentation, risk assessments and audit tools, in order to structure, guide and advance clinical practice.
